What the Job Involves
This role includes providing one-on-one mentoring to help participants overcome barriers to employment. You will manage a caseload, create action plans, and deliver personalized interventions and support on an outreach basis. You'll work with various stakeholders, including Families First and Flying Start, and promote the program's services to ensure participants can move into and sustain employment. This involves maintaining accurate records, participating in development initiatives, and working occasionally during unsocial hours.
Skills
- Experience in community work or employability support
- Understanding of employment, benefits, and welfare reform
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication skills in English (Welsh desirable)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic record-keeping
- Commitment to confidentiality, equality, and diversity
- Experience in mentoring participants facing barriers to employment
