Who You Are

We are seeking a practitioner who has a recognized professional Social Work Qualification and significant post-qualifying experience in a statutory children's services social work setting. You should have a strong background in undertaking assessments and managing complex cases, with experience in court work, and be adept at planning appropriate and targeted interventions to reduce the risk of offending/re-offending. You will have the ability to write high-quality reports, including preparing sentencing proposals, and presenting information to the Courts when required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expert knowledge and skills within the Public Law Outline and be committed to ensuring that children remain with family wherever it is safe and suitable.

What the Job Involves

This role offers a specialist practitioner career development pathway, focusing on leadership through practice rather than direct team management. As a Team Manager (Court Specialist), you will hold responsibility for complex court work cases and play a pivotal role in facilitating the learning and development of others through group supervision and guidance in matters related to the Public Law Outline (PLO) and Court. Among your key responsibilities will be driving excellence in practice and quality of care across Children's Services, leading and developing good practice, ensuring the delivery of quality services, and promoting the voice of children in decision-making. You will work closely within an established management team, influencing significant decisions regarding cases and ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and equitably.
