What the Job Involves

The Housing Reviews Officer is responsible for conducting reviews and inquiries under Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996, ensuring compliance with legal standards. You will build strong partnerships across public, private, and voluntary sectors to deliver services efficiently. The role involves responding to legal challenges, working closely with the Council’s Legal service, and providing training to staff. You will champion modern working practices, improve digital processes, and embed equality and diversity into service delivery.

Skills

  • Extensive housing act and legal obligations knowledge
  • Experience with s202 reviews and legal challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, and active listening abilities
  • Strong written communication for detailed and legally compliant documentation
  • Ability to assimilate complex case law and think creatively
  • Experience in prioritizing workloads and meeting targets
  • Proficiency with IT systems and championing modern technologies
