Who You Are
You are an experienced professional with at least 6 months of experience in handling formal and informal appeals related to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued within London. You possess a comprehensive understanding of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and Road Traffic Act 1991. Your role as a member of the Parking Appeals and Representations team is crucial in supporting the Council's objectives related to Climate Change, Air Quality, and Streets for People initiatives. You are expected to produce high-quality work, using your expertise to make balanced judgments in each case involving PCNs, parking permits, or parking control suspensions.
What the Job Involves
The role involves investigating and responding to all parking-related correspondence, including appeals and representations. You will present evidence to adjudicators at London Tribunals, handle various parking enquiries, and attend external Adjudication Hearings. Your duties include managing permit and parking control suspension applications while maintaining communication procedures to deliver excellent customer service. You will also accelerate and report any emerging themes or trends, prioritize your workload, ensure compliance with enforcement standards, and authorize cancellations and refunds when necessary. Additionally, you will assist in mentoring new staff and provide advice on complex cases, occasionally deputizing for the Appeals and Representations Manager.
