You are a qualified social worker with a degree or further qualifications in Social Work. You possess experience managing a varied caseload and have knowledge or experience in fostering or kinship settings. You have a good understanding of relevant legislation and procedures, and are committed to delivering high-quality services while working collaboratively with various stakeholders. You exhibit qualities of non-judgement, empathy, problem-solving, and teamwork. A flexible approach to work, including some out-of-hours commitment, is essential.
What the Job Involves
The role focuses on supporting kinship foster carers within the Cardiff Fostering Service. Your responsibilities include assessing and reviewing services, working with at-risk individuals, developing systems to ensure service quality, participating in decision-making forums, and contributing to team approaches and service planning. You will be involved in recruiting and supporting foster carers, assessing potential kinship arrangements, and supporting service delivery through effective documentation and communication. A significant part of your role involves collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and contributing to policy and service development.
