Who You Are

As a SEND High Needs Officer at Westminster City Council, you are dedicated to making a difference for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You bring experience in finance administration, education, or public services, and understand the importance of supporting the community.

What the job involves

In this role, you will play a vital part in improving services for children and young people within Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing financial oversight, data management, and administrative support for SEND services.
  • Monitoring and updating high needs top-up funding using the EBT funding matrix.
  • Managing and maintaining finance systems and pupil funding databases.
  • Creating and reconciling purchase orders and supplier agreements.
  • Coordinating personal budget payments and overseeing invoice approval processes.
  • Leading termly audits and financial reviews for schools and independent providers.
  • Producing annual reports with analysis, benchmarking, and forecasting of high needs funding.
  • Ensuring finance-related casework information is up to date and accurate.
