Who You Are
As a Senior Lawyer (Prosecutions) at the Council, you are a qualified solicitor, barrister, or FILEX with a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience. You possess excellent communication skills and have proven experience in handling complex legal matters. You are collaborative, adaptable, and exemplary in mentoring and providing support to colleagues. Your approach is proactive, innovative, and focused on delivering value for money while maintaining high standards.
What the Job Involves
Your role will involve managing complex and politically sensitive legal matters independently, encompassing areas such as planning and highways enforcement, environmental health, and public safety prosecutions. You will draft, negotiate, conduct legal research, advise, and engage in case preparations, including advocacy where necessary. Collaboration with various stakeholders, providing comprehensive legal services, and building a culture of trust within your team is key. You will be responsible for contributing to the management strategy of the Legal Services Team and ensuring ongoing education in legal developments.
