What the Job Involves

As a Principal Transport Planning Officer, you will assist the team leader in developing transportation policies and programmes within a small and dynamic transport team. You will manage the Smarter Travel programme, contribute to the Local Transport Plan (LTP), and initiate funding bids. This role includes project management, financial oversight, and delivering high-quality projects through their life-cycle. You will provide advice and support to members, the public, and colleagues, representing the authority on various working groups and partnerships. You will be responsible for integrated transport schemes, carbon reduction initiatives, and evaluating transport projects and programmes.
