Who You Are
You are a qualified and experienced Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in statutory Children’s Social Care service. You possess a degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification and hold current registration with the Social Work England. You have a demonstrable knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks, ability to conduct needs-led assessments, and advanced skills in care assessment and planning. You are solution-focused, committed to professional development, and demonstrate empathy and effective communication skills with children, young people, and families.
What the Job Involves
As a Social Worker within Sefton Council's Children’s Social Care, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people. You will manage a complex and varied caseload, make evidence-based decisions, and represent the department in multi-disciplinary forums and court hearings. Your role includes conducting risk assessments, developing care plans, and undertaking direct work with children and families. You will engage in partnership working across multi-agency boundaries and contribute to the development and improvement of the service.
