Who You Are

Sefton's Youth Justice Service is seeking a skilled and motivated Operational Manager to support the team for a period of 6 months with the possibility of extension. We are looking for an experienced Leader with a track record of delivering high-quality services within the youth justice system. You should possess a relevant professional qualification and either have a leadership qualification or equivalent experience. You will have up-to-date knowledge of the youth justice environment and be part of a management team supporting multiple staff members. Working alongside partner agencies and Children Social Care colleagues, you will provide high-quality management oversight to drive practice.

What the Job Involves

The role includes supporting the Service Manager to deliver effective services to children, young people, and their families and deputizing for the Service Manager. You will lead key thematic areas relevant to the Youth Justice Service, managing a multi-agency team, and improving service quality. Responsibilities extend to implementing the Service Development Plan, formulating local plans, supporting audits, observing practice, and developing relationships with partners. You will ensure services meet National Key Performance Indicators, integrate with Children's Services on Quality Assurance, and manage budget reporting. Additional duties include representing the Council, managing YJS budgets, leading funded projects, and developing and facilitating various service offers, including court services, risk management, and restorative justice, among others.
