Who You Are
You are an experienced social worker with substantial post-qualifying experience in a statutory Children's Social Care setting. You possess a recognized professional social work qualification such as DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent, and hold registration with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC). You are committed to continuous professional development and may hold or be willing to achieve a Practice Educator qualification within the first year of employment. You demonstrate expert practice in complex situations and can manage higher levels of risk. Your expertise allows you to support and mentor less experienced social workers, participate actively in the Workforce Development Programme, and lead in specialist areas as directed by departmental policies.
What the Job Involves
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will provide a comprehensive and effective integrated social work service within a Resilience framework. Your responsibilities will involve assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating safeguarding and permanence measures for children with complex needs. You will directly work with children and families, maintaining updated case records and collaborating with other agencies to promote positive outcomes. In your role, you will provide expert social work interventions, offer mentorship, and support workforce development as a Practice Educator. Your work will require regular reporting, adherence to statutory guidelines, and maintaining high standards of health and safety. You will also contribute to research and evidence fellow activities and participate in workshops under the guidance of the Barnet Family Services.
