Who You Are

You are a dedicated Specialist Housing Occupational Therapist with a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health Care Professionals Council. With experience in triaging and assessing strength-based needs of individuals with disabilities, you effectively manage equipment recommendations and structural adaptations. You are committed to promoting independent living and improving the quality of life for adults, families, and carers.

What the Job Involves

This role involves completing strength-based assessments for people with disabilities, recommending and organizing the supply of equipment and adaptations, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure optimal service delivery. You will manage a diverse workload, maintain accurate social care records, and ensure service standards are met. You will contribute to developing Occupational Therapy services, participate in professional development, and drive for social value through your activities while adhering to the City Council’s policies and procedures.

Skills

  • Ability to work independently, managing a diverse workload
  • Competence in completing Care Act 2014 compliant assessments
  • Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision
  • Knowledge of adaptations and equipment for disabilities
