Sefton’s Youth Justice Service (YJS) is offering an agency position to support the team as a Youth Justice Service Delivery and Interventions Worker. In addition to being suitably experienced, you will be highly motivated and passionate about working with children and young people. We welcome innovation and someone who has children and young people at the heart of what they do and demonstrates Child First principles in their practice.
What the Job Involves
In the role, you will deliver direct work to children and families as well as coordinate interventions with partners. You will support children who are subject to statutory plans as well as completing assessments and plans with children who have received Out of Court disposals. You will have experience working with partners, children, and families and be able to communicate effectively to deliver the best outcomes for children and families. The role will be working from an office base and will include agile working within the community, and you may need to work flexibly outside of core hours on occasions to meet the needs of the service.
Skills
- Experience in youth, justice, and family support sectors
- Development of child-focused assessments and interventions
- Case management and safeguarding expertise
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and collaborate with partners and families
- Empathy and trust-building with a non-judgemental approach
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- Knowledge of issues affecting families (e.g., domestic violence, mental health)
- Flexibility to work outside core hours
