Who You Are

You are a RICS Chartered Surveyor with a deep understanding of strategic asset and estate management, particularly within the realm of local government. You possess extensive experience managing a wide portfolio of properties and are well-versed in property legislation, including Health & Safety compliance. Your background allows you to work effectively with service areas such as Adult Social Care and Education, and you bring a strong grasp of local authorities' governance and approval structures. You are adept at integrating equity, equality, fairness, and diversity into team and service operations.

What the job involves

As a Portfolio Surveyor, you will strategically lead and manage a sub-portfolio of council assets, focusing primarily on maximizing value and ensuring efficiency in asset management. The role involves overseeing acquisitions, lease events, management, and disposals, with an emphasis on supporting adult social care and education service areas. You will develop investment and maintenance plans, negotiate property matters, project manage rationalization initiatives, and contribute to the Council’s Property Asset Strategy. Emphasis will be on using new technologies and delivering outcomes that align with the Council's commitment to community cohesion, diversity, and sustainability.
