Who You Are

You are an individual with extensive technical knowledge in contaminated land and environmental protection. You hold a degree or formal qualification in a relevant technical discipline, and you possess practical experience in the regulation of development control, including inspections and complex complaint investigations. You work well both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating a personal commitment to continuous improvement and the values of Liverpool City Council.

What the Job Involves

As the Contaminated Land Officer, your role involves regulating development control through the identification and remediation of contaminated land. You'll provide advice and support to various council service areas, develop and implement the City's contaminated land strategy, and operate GIS and other computerised systems for data analysis. Your responsibilities include preparing and presenting materials for meetings, maintaining the Contaminated Land Information Management System, and responding to public and agency inquiries. You'll also contribute to promoting equal opportunities and non-discriminatory practices, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, and optimizing financial resources.
