You are an experienced social work professional with a deep understanding of the Children Act 1989 and other related legislation. You possess a reputation for integrity and the ability to form productive relationships while displaying strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking. You demonstrate a commitment to promoting equal opportunities and valuing diversity. Your experience in children and families social work within statutory, voluntary, or independent sectors is essential. You are registered or eligible for registration with Social Work England.
What the Job Involves
As a Senior Practitioner in Children’s Social Care, you will be responsible for handling complex caseloads, assessing and providing services within the framework of legislation, and contributing to service efficiency. You will supervise staff, engage with other agencies, and promote high standards of professional practice. You will also manage child protection responsibilities which include formulating plans, attending conferences, and may involve giving evidence in court. You will aid in developing care plans and ensure standards for looked after children. Additionally, you will partake in administrative duties and financial responsibilities to support effective care management.
